As Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos

Mariana Zvetkova was simply stunning in the title role. Her voice is huge, robust. A sonic powerhouse, yet warm and feminine, beautiful to hear, focused and managed. With such a voice as hers, one was enthralled to listen.

Charles H. Parsons
Opera - May 1997

As Elisabeth in Tannhauser

As Leonora in Il Trovatore

Il Trovatore combines love with vengence. As Leonora, a noblewoman of the court of the princess of Aragon, the vocally resplendent Mariana Zvetkova, in her Dayton debut, proved to be a highly proficient singer. Her top notes filled Memorial Hall, while in the more poetic passges, she uses lovely pianissimos.

Soprano Mariana Zvetkova, a native of Bulgaria, sings the demanding role of Leonora, showing both vulnerability and strength in her passionate performance.

As Amelia in Ballo in Maschera

"A Masked Ball" opened Michigan Opera's new season saturday night at the Detroit Opera House...From a strictly vocal standpoint, the production is admirably cast, and the opera's strongest episode worked well. The act II midnight meeting at the town gallows between the king (Eduardo Villa) and Amelia (soprano Mariana Zvetkova) interrupted by the protective cobcern of the aide (baritone C.Y. Liao) combined gorgeous singing with a ghostly, ominous atmosphere of spiritual conflict and impending death.
